Whenever and wherever you visit their farmer's market booth, you will find cherries, jujubes, antique apples, heirloom vegetables, bitter melon, and kaffir lime leaves. DUNBAR FARM

In addition to organic farming, Dunbar Farm cultivates direct relationships with its customers. Organic vegetables and grains are grown without pesticides, herbicides, or chemicals. Among the products sold are whole-grain, stone-milled flours freshly milled on-farm, sourdough bread, polenta, and other milled corn products, popcorn, a variety of whole grains and beans, and seasonal herbs and fruits.

Among the oldest grape vines in the Rogue Valley, these vines were planted in the mid-1970s. With mature vines, a south-facing aspect, warm days, and cool evenings, the Farm Stand/Tasting Room produces elegant, sophisticated red wines. About five acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec are planted in the vineyard.

THE ENGLISH LAVENDER FARM

As lavender farmers in Southern Oregon, Sue and Derek Owen began a new life in 2011. There is an open house on the farm each year in June and July from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday through Monday.

Their fields are free of chemicals and pesticides, and their products are as natural as possible. Lavender is fed Epsom salts in the spring and fall, but by and large, it seems to be able to thrive on its own. Their own lavender is distilled. The process is slow and takes hours for each run with a small still. To clear the barn at the end of the season takes months.
